NaCCA is focused on improving the educational experiences and outcomes for Ghanaian children through high-quality curriculum and assessment standards. This engagement brought together important figures from different departments in the region to discuss the development of the curriculum.

The Deputy Director and Head of Curriculum Development urged all stakeholders to actively participate in this vital initiative. She highlighted that the curriculum has been discussed with a wide range of stakeholders across Ghana, including political parties, and expressed confidence that the new curriculum would greatly enhance learners’ abilities.

Madam Mabel Viviey, the Communication and ICT Coordinator, outlined the key features of the new secondary education curriculum. She stressed that the curriculum would help learners engage more effectively with their surroundings and emphasized the importance of teachers understanding and correctly implementing the curriculum.

NaCCA announced that the curriculum would be piloted in 33 schools across Ghana, including those in the Northeast Region. Selected schools for the pilot in this region include the STEM School at Kpasinkpa, Gambaga Girls SHS, and Chariponi SHS.

Samuel Owusu Ansah presented on the subject combinations and learning areas for SHS, SHTS, and STEM schools, explaining that this approach would allow students to learn across different subjects.
